Mind mapping is one of the most powerful visualization tools
for ideas, flows, goals - whatever we want to achieve. Here are some of my most
favorite tools. These tools may LOOK fuzzy and cute, but they can change the
way you brainstorm your ideas. So here we go...

My cool Favorite Sticky notes tools:
The reason I fell in love with scrumblr, is that it takes two seconds to get going with. You don’t need to register, sign up or log in. You just get started.
To check it out, just click here. You create a new board by simply using a
unique URL - like http://srumblr.ca/your_team_name_your_board_name.
Now this tool may be lacking in functionality for more
elaborate stuff, but it’s an excellent way to get you started.
Lino is an amazing online tool that serves as a personal
white board!
It’s seriously cool, with endless options.
First, I really appreciate the fact
that by creating a personal board I can customize it to reflect my entire
“world” of doings and interests. For example, I can arrange my career
interests, customer related issues, personal tasks and my entire area of
interest, and have them laid out right in front of me.
Second, I can create several
boards, each with a different scope of interests. For example, one board will
be for managing my personal tasks, and another board for my customers.
Being able to visualize the
whole, while also scoping over a specific issue is a very powerful tool for
getting things done.
Third, I just love the digital
sticky notes option.
Lino is online, so I can, of
course, access it from anywhere and design my own set of boards. It’s simple to
use, colorful, has tons of options, video tutorials and a friendly introduction.
Features include adding tasks or
pictures, due dates, tasks icons, tasks priority, pinning tasks, and more!
And of course, there’s a mobile app
as well, for both iPhone AND Android users!
I love it!

My three favorites Mind maps tools
After the comments on one of my posts
about mind mapping tools, I decided to post about three tools I’ve come
across recently, that (to me) are the easiest to pick up and start using.
Now these tools may LOOK fuzzy and cute, but they can
change the way you brainstorm your ideas.
So here we go:
Mindmeister is an online mind mapping tool, with a free
basic account.
What I especially loved in this tool is the online demo,
when you can simply try out what ever you want. Before you start with your
first mind map, the demo explains how to use the different tools all the way
through the mind mapping process. It has an excellent interface, it’s easy to
use, easy share with others and allows a real brainstorm collaboration.
MindMeister has a basic free version with up to 3 mind
maps, and a Pro version.
Text2mindmap is one of the neatest tools I’ve seen,
despite the basic and simplistic looks. It’s incredibly easy to convert our
text into a mind map without dealing with structural and UI actions.
The mind map is created from a list. You can then move
the items around to suit your needs. It doesn’t have lots of bells and
whistles, but it’s plenty enough to
brainstorm your ideas.
Tex2mind is free, and doesn’t require a sign up.
Blumind is a very simple mind mapping tool, and a good
tool for people just beginning to use mind mapping software. The only reason
it’s number 3 on the list, is because I prefer online tools, and you need to
download and install Blumind to use it.
Blumind has multiple colorful sets, you can expand,
collapse and connect nodes, and you can also add icons and notes.
It’s easy to start with. What I really like about it is
the ability to add a progress bar, where you can follow your to-do’s in a
visual manner.
Free – Download needed – Easy to start – Sign up is not
needed

Home Kanban board…. Swift Kanban software
Awesome Free of charge home Kanban board…. Swift Kanban
software
People, who know me, know I
prefer the good old-fashioned white boards and sticky notes over software
tools, but even I stumble across tools that I find really useful, giving
that extra edge to practicing Agile at home with our kids.
Don’t forget! A tool does NOT replace our direct
communication. The tool just helps make our tasks even more visible, it is not
a goal in itself.
I find Swift
Kanban a
very useful tool for home made Kanban, it consists of a simple Kanban board,
with colorful tickets and customizable flow. We can actually create our own
house tasks board, with whatever columns we prefer, and assign tasks to our
family.
The Swift Kanban interface has a good feel
and flow to it - it’s easy to get to the different areas you need, and it’s
flexible enough to let you customize it, without having to figure out
complicated routines and rules.
What can we do with it ?
- Create tasks of different types.
- Add family members to those tasks.
- Have shared tasks on a member’s tasks.
- Define Due date for tasks.
- Drag and drop tasks as we wish.
- Add our picture
- Add attachment
- Colors
- And many more….
I love it!
Limitation:
Free Limited to 4 users
Enjoy :)
